Cairo – MEFLO:
Member of the House of Representatives, Sahar Talaat Mustapha, called on the Egyptian community to support Egypt’s legitimate demands for the restoration of Egyptian artifacts from abroad, especially after displaying the head of a statue attributed to King Tutankhamun in London on July 4, confirming that these pieces are an integral part of our identity. Which should not be accepted in any way.
In a press statement, the deputy demanded that lovers of Egyptian civilization from all over the world write on social networks in foreign languages, in order to press for the restoration of the Egyptian artifacts currently displayed in Christie’s Hall and to stop the illegal sale.
The MP confirmed her support for the steps taken by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Antiquities in addressing the British Foreign Ministry and UNESCO to confront this farce, stressing at the same time that the Egyptian legislation prohibits this, saying: “Our Egyptian identity is not for sale.”
